Do I need a doctor’s referral?

Short answer, you don't need a doctors referral to start physical therapy.  In the state of Maryland, the law allows you to be evaluated and treated by a physical therapist without needing a referral from a doctor. This means that you can start your treatment right away without any delays. However, rest assured that we will still collaborate with your doctor after evaluating you in order to establish a comprehensive plan of care that is tailored to your individual needs. Your health and well-being are our top priorities, and we are committed to providing you with the highest level of care without the need for a doctor's referral.

Do you have a clinic?

At BE Rehab, we specialize in providing physical therapy services to seniors in the comfort of their own homes. We do not have a traditional clinic, as we believe in delivering care that is convenient and accessible for our patients. Our services are currently available exclusively in Maryland, and we also partner with Independent Living Facilities, Assisted Living Facilities, and Adult Day Cares to assist their residents/clients in improving their quality of life. Our team of skilled and compassionate therapists are dedicated to helping seniors achieve their functional goals in a familiar and comfortable environment.

Does Medicare cover physical therapy?

Yes, Medicare B does cover skilled physical therapy. Medicare typically covers 80% of the costs for qualified physical therapy services, with the remaining 20% being covered by your secondary insurance, if applicable. At BE Rehab, we are experienced in working with Medicare and can assist you in determining your insurance coverage. Our team will work closely with you to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits from your insurance plan, so you can focus on getting the care you need to improve your health and well-being. Contact us today to learn more about our services and how we can help you navigate the insurance process.

What can I expect in my evaluation appointment?

Your first appointment with BE Rehab will be an evaluation. You can expect a comprehensive assessment administered by one of our licensed physical therapist. This initial visit will typically last approximately one hour, and your physical therapist will start by reviewing your medical history, diagnostic tests, and any recent events that may have contributed to your current condition. Your evaluation will include an assessment of your functional deficits, pain level, posture, as well as an evaluation of your flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance. Based on the findings of the evaluation, your physical therapist will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs and provide you with clear expectations for your recovery.

What do I need to start physical therapy with BE Rehab?

First, you will need to provide us with some important information prior to scheduling your evaluation appointment. This includes your insurance cards, doctor referral (if applicable), any available medical records, and a photo identification. It's also helpful for us to have your primary care physician contact information. After the evaluation, we will discuss your case with your doctor to ensure coordinated care and establish a plan of care that meets your specific needs. Our goal is to provide you with the highest level of care and assistance throughout your physical therapy journey.

How do I request for a copy of my medical records?
